Believers Eastern Church celebrated World Health Day on 8 April 2019 by spreading awareness about health and wellbeing and taking healthcare facilities to people who need it the most.
This year, the World Health Day, a global health awareness day, was celebrated across the world under the theme “universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere” with the goal that everyone should be able to access the health care they need, when and where they need it.
As part of the World Health Day celebration, Believers Eastern Church dioceses organized health related events at different places.
Several dioceses held medical camps to provide free medical assistance and medicines to low income families. Multivitamin drops were also administered to children to prevent vitamin deficiencies.
Health awareness programs were conducted at remote villages and slums where people lack knowledge about how to prevent and treat diseases. Beside teaching people about health related issues, health educational pamphlets were also distributed among them.
To mark the day, some dioceses carried out clean up drives at hospitals.
Fruits were distributed to patients at hospitals, impoverished children in slums, and people suffering from leprosy.
