The Hope for Children Balarampur project in the Diocese of Dhaka has brought much-needed relief to the residents of Danga Para Village by inaugurating a new bore well. This recently inaugurated well addresses the community’s dire need for clean, arsenic-free drinking water. Although the village had tube wells in place, they were shallow and heavily contaminated with arsenic, making the water unsafe for consumption. The new bore well now provides clean water to approximately thirty families in the area, where poverty and daily wage labor are common challenges.
The bore well inauguration ceremony was attended by over 100 people, including Rev. Fr. Peter Barman, Vicar General of the Dhaka Diocese, along with local village leaders, teachers, ward members, community residents, and children.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as both children and parents expressed their happiness. The event concluded with the distribution of snacks to all the attendees, marking a day of celebration and hope for a healthier future in Danga Para.
The Hope for Children project in Balarampur, located nearly 40 kilometers from Dinajpur district, was launched on August 8, 2023. In just a short period, the center has made a significant impact on the surrounding community. The recent installation of the new bore well, providing clean water to local residents, is a clear testament to the project’s positive influence on the lives of those in and around Balarampur.
