Hope for Children Organizes Health Awareness Program

In an effort to promote maternal health and ensure safe pregnancies, Hope for Children in Diocese of Kohalpur organized a health awareness program for expectant mothers on November 8, 2023. The event aimed to equip women with essential knowledge about safe delivery practices and maintaining a healthy pregnancy.

The program saw the participation of 35 eager expectant mothers. Mrs. Tara Devi Thapa, the Health Assistant of the local ward, served as the primary instructor, delivering insightful lectures on the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy pregnancy. Utilizing a combination of visual aids, including pictures and written spiral chart papers, she effectively conveyed crucial information to the attending mothers — from self-care during pregnancy to essential practices for caring for a newborn baby post-delivery.

Ms. Shikha Basnet, one of the attendees, expressed her delight at the wealth of information gained during the awareness program. “I acquired a lot of knowledge regarding maintaining one’s health when pregnant. The lessons are helpful for me. I will also share this information with my family,” shared Ms. Basnet.

The participating mothers collectively voiced their happiness at acquiring vital knowledge and expressed gratitude towards the Hope for Children team for organizing this insightful event.
