The Hope for Children Center in the Diocese of Birtamod recently organized a workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship’ for community members in the Birtamod area of Jhapa District. The workshop aimed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
The event saw the active participation of 43 community women, including the resource person Miss Saraswati Chamlagain, Chairperson of Ritani Swarojgar Kendra and Haldibari Samaweshi Mahila Kendra. Also in attendance were members of the Pathivara Family Forum, Belgachi Ama Shamuha, local community members, and staff from the Hope for Children Center.
The workshop’s objectives were threefold: to familiarize participants with the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship, to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among those from non-entrepreneurial backgrounds, and to provide practical guidance on starting a business. Topics covered included idea generation, business planning, and resource management.
Miss Saraswati Chamlagain emphasized the vital role of entrepreneurship in economic growth and highlighted the importance of financial planning and how non-entrepreneurial family members can contribute to their family’s financial stability.
One participant, Mrs. Sima Khatun, expressed her gratitude for the workshop, sharing that it provided her with new ideas and the confidence to seriously consider starting her own business.
