A Bridge of Hope team in Believers Church Himachal Pradesh held an awareness rally on World No Tobacco Day, 31st May 2014. More than 150 people actively took part in the rally including Bridge of Hope children, students of the local Minor Seminary and members of Women’s Fellowship.
Ms. Swetha Thakur (Deputy Superintendent of Police) inaugurated the rally by cutting the ribbon. She appluaded the difference the children were making and appreciated the work of Believers Church among the poor and needy children.
In the rally the children carried banners and placards and raised slogans like “Say no to tobacco” and “Make every day No Tobacco Day” to raise awareness about the ill effects of tobacco. Several newspapers and channels reported about the rally.
Believers Church observes World No-Tobacco Day in hundreds of communities each year. Thousands are educated about the seriousness and the importance of saying no to tobacco.
