Believers Church Haryana visited a leprosy colony along with Women’s Fellowship members and Sisters of Compassion on World Leprosy Day, 30th January 2013. 25 families live here, and many of the people are elderly.
Savita, Women’s Fellowship leader, told the leprosy patients that this day was a special day to remember all who were afflicted with leprosy. Knowing the extreme cold of this winter, the church distributed blankets to the people.
“I am thankful to Believers Church for providing this blanket,” said a recipient named Ram. “We are four members in our family and we didn’t have enough blankets. But this blanket given by Believers Church will help us to get comfort in this winter.”
This program was just part of Believers Church year-round service to leprosy patients. The church’s Sisters of Compassion are specially trained to work among people suffering with the disease.
