19 handicapped people received tricycles from Believers Church Gorakhpur Diocese on 8th March 2013. Most of them suffer with polio, bone infections or deformed feet, while some have wounds on their feet. A group of them had struggled since birth, and some since childhood. None of them could walk.
Due to their poverty, they could not afford any means to get around. So they were stuck in their homes. Understanding their difficulty, Believers Church decided to provide tricycles for them.
Special guests gathered for the distribution program, including: Mr. V.K. Trivadi (Minority Commisioner), Mr. Altaf Anusari (Samajwadi Party Leader), Mr. Gopal Barnaval (Medicine Authorized Distributor) and Mr. Rudal Chauhan (Village Sarpanch).
“Since God has appointed me in this area as a political leader to serve among the public,” said Mr. Altaf Ansari, “I am always ready to be part of Believers Church and help the poor and needy people.” Later he added, “We as leaders have learned today that we should have passion for our people.”
The recipients were filled with emotion as they expressed gratitude for the tricycles. “Even perfect words are not enough to say thanks,” they said.
“My right leg is healthy, but left leg is short,” said 13-year-old Geeta. “Due to this I am unable to walk like other children. But today I am happy at least I can get from one place to another place by tricycle”
This distribution took place through Believers Church’s poverty alleviation program, which has touched lakhs of people.
