Believers Church Gorakhpur Diocese distributed gifts to impoverished community members on 1st February. Special guests attending the program included Mr. Dara Singh Chauhan (Member of Parliament) and Mr. Ramayan Singh (Principal of Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh Inter-College).
“The church is actively involved to care for the poor and needy people,” said MP Mr. Dara Singh Chouhan. “By seeing the program and the need I can say that in the future, I would surely like to be part of the Community Development Program to help people and cooperate with the church. It’s wonderful to see the leaders of Believers Church helping the village people.”
More than 400 community members received poverty-alleviating gifts such as blankets, handcarts, cycle rickshaws, tricycles and sewing machines. Santosh received a handcart. “I have nothing special,” he explained; “not much education. But at least I can use this hand puller for some good purpose to carry things on it and work hard. Thanks for helping and encouraging me to work hard.”
Believers Church assists thousands of people each year through its poverty alleviation project.
