Believers Church Uttarakhand organized a community development program to help underprivileged girl children on 27th August 2015.
The church selected 35 girls from financially poor families. Previously, they used to walk two to five kilometers single side to go to their school because their parents could not afford any transportation expenses. Realizing their difficulties, the church decided to gift them with a bicycle.
“My father is a daily wage labor. He didn’t have money to afford the transportation expenses. So, I used to walk to my school which is around 4 kilometers away from my home. I was always late for my classes and I used to get scolding for that,” said Divya, one girl. “Thank you so much for gifting me with this cycle. From now onwards, I can reach to my school on time.”
This is just an example of how the church is working to empower the women and girl children through its various projects.
