A Believers Church Lucknow Diocese Women’s Fellowship team arranged a World Leprosy Day program at an ashram on 30th January 2013. They distributed 60 food packets and 45 blankets to those in need.
A widow named Anitha was one of the recipients. “This winter is so hard to bear and it was very difficult for me to provide things for my son,” she said. “This blanket is so beneficial to myself and my son in this winter.” She looked forward to offering a food packet to her son when he came home from school.
During the program, Rev. Fr. Reji encouraged the leprosy patients with God’s love for them, saying that God created all human beings. This thought deeply touched the patients and caused some to cry.
The Women’s Fellowship team also entertained the patients and local children with action songs and short stories.
Mr. Pandey, head of the ashram, said, “I am so thankful to the people of Believers Church for reaching to our needy people and sharing their love and gifts to the deprived people of our society.”
This was just one of many places where Believers Church organized programs for World Leprosy Day.
