Believers Church Dimapur organized a Global Handwashing Day program in a colony on 15th October 2014.
According to research, washing hands with soap before having food and after using toilet can reduce the death rates due to diarrhea by fifty percentage and due to acute respiratory infections by twenty-five percentage.
So, the church organized this program to educate the community members about the importance of washing hands. They demonstrated them how to wash hands.
“Me and my children used to eat the food that we collected from other places without washing hands,” said Sanjuli Kumar. “But, from today onwards, I’ll be careful to wash our hands before having food.”
Believers Church each year educates thousands of people about topics like hand washing, substance abuse and AIDS prevention to of people in undeveloped communities.
