Gifts Provide Livelihood for Desperate Villagers

Believers Church Dhemaji Diocese distributed income-generating gifts to unprivileged communities in November 2012. 71 families in three different villages received gifts such as tin roofing sheets, cows, goats, pigs and sewing machines.

Mr. Apang Doley (village chief) said, “I am very glad today for having this kind of gathering…I am very much thankful to Believers Church for helping the poor in our community.”

The recipients were grateful to receive means of livelihood. Mr. Patir on getting piglets, said, “This year’s flood was a great loss for my family because all our land was washed away by it…My dream is to buy at least a small piece of land and I feel my dream is going to come true very soon by rearing the piglets that I received free of cost.”

One woman, Mrs. Kurneswari Doley, looks forward to admitting her small children in school with the money she earns through her gift.

These are just a couple examples of how the Community Development Project of Believers Church uplifts struggling community members.
