Garbage Scavengers Receive BioSand Water Filters in Uttarakhand

On 27th September 2014, Believers Church Uttarakhand distributed BioSand Water Filters 20 families.

The recipients are garbage scavengers and have no money to afford a filter their own. This forced them to drink the impure water they get from a hand pump directly without purifying it. This often caused them diseases like fever, cold and coughs and sometimes even kidney stones. So, the church distributed the filters to help them access pure water and to ensure their health.

Kuldeep demonstrated them how it works. He poured some dirty and unclean water into it and then took the filtered water in a glass and gave them to drink. They were all amazed by the great change in the water they got after filtering.

“This impure water made my husband to suffer from kidney stone,” said Mrs. Banita. “Thank you so much for giving us this filter, because it will protect the rest of my family from diseases like this.”

Believers Church ensures health and hygiene of the people in rural areas by providing them pure drinking water through the clean water project.
