Free Roofing Sheets Shelter Flood Victims in Sri Lanka

Soon after floods brought destruction to many parts of Sri Lanka, Believers Church Colombo Diocese distributed free dry ration packets to the hungry.

One such distribution benefited a community in Polonnaruwa. When the Believers Church relief team visited the location, they saw homes that the floods had severely damaged, leaving families without shelter.

The Believers Church team realized the necessity of repairing these houses, and decided to provide the needy families with free roofing sheets. In March 2011, the team headed back to Polonnaruwa to distribute roofing sheets to the needy families. The team partnered with Pastor Sumith of Believers Church Polonnaruwa to accomplish the task.

 Each family was given 28 roofing sheets to provide shelter to their brick and clay homes. The families expressed thanks to God for seeing their difficulties and providing for them. They were grateful to Believers Church for having a kind heart to help them.

 Many communities throughout Asia have found hope in the midst of terrible situations through the ready help of Believers Church relief teams.
