The Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Birtamod recently organized a free medical camp in collaboration with Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital. The camp was held on the premises of Believers English School in Nakalbanda, Jhapa District, Nepal.
Three doctors, including a general physician and a child health specialist, along with two nurses, were present at the medical camp to provide free consultations to children and their parents. A total of 185 children, along with their parents, benefited from the camp.
Inaugurating the medical camp, the Vicar General of Birtamod Diocese said, “As we all know, health plays a crucial role in our lives. Regular health check-ups are essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle and ensure a better future.”
During the check-ups, many children were found to have skin allergies. Others were diagnosed with stomachaches, headaches, and chronic fevers. The medical team provided medication to those in need and advised them to visit specialists for further treatment.
The children and their parents expressed their immense happiness and gratitude to the church for organizing the free medical camp.
Dr. Nima Tamang, Founder of Budhabare City Hospital, remarked, “I salute and respect every initiative taken by the church to help the needy and underprivileged.”
Mrs. Chapma Yonjan, Vice-Principal of Believers English School, added, “Many of our students’ parents are daily wage laborers who seldom have the means to visit doctors. We are deeply thankful to the church for providing this invaluable service to our students and their families.”
