On July 6, 2024, a Hope for Children center in the Diocese of Itahari organized a free health check-up camp in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 3 in collaboration with the Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City Health Branch and with the technical support of Inkha Integrated Hospital.
During the camp, children’s general health examinations and blood tests were performed, while parents had their diabetes and blood pressure checked. Additionally, children’s height and weight were measured. Fortunately, no patients presented with complex diseases; most were treated for common ailments such as colds, earaches, and fevers. Some individuals with stomach issues required x-rays, and two injured patients received bandages.
A total of 14 types of medicines were distributed to the patients at the camp. Approximately 500 people, including children, benefited from the free health check-ups, which started at 9:30 am and concluded at 4:00 pm. Despite continuous rain from morning until evening, the program proceeded smoothly and successfully.
The medical team expressed their gratitude for being part of the health camp conducted by Hope for Children. They committed to participating in future health-related programs and providing assistance wherever necessary.
Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3, Mr. Umesh Subedi, also extended his thanks to Hope for Children, the staff, doctors, and the entire team for making the health camp a success in his ward.
Community members expressed their appreciation for the health camp and suggested that conducting such camps annually would greatly benefit their community.
