On 9th May 2010, Believers Church Agartala Diocese celebrated Mother’s Day. In honor of the occasion, Bridge of Hope organized a multivitamin distribution program for women in Khumulwng market.
Special guest Dr. Rati Ranjan Debbarma (MBBS) of Kherengbar Hospital in Khumulwng played a key part in the program. He highlighted the importance of taking multivitamins and also gave some general instructions about the tablets being handed out.
Dr. Hiran Debbarma (MBBS), Pastor Raju (Administrator of Agartala Diocese), and Mrs. Suchitra (Women’s Fellowship leader) were also present for the occasion.
Pastor Raju addressed the crowd, sharing about God’s love for all. Following him, Mrs. Suchitra talked about the significance of Mother’s Day.
A total number of 439 women benefited from the distribution program. Many pedestrians and market-going women came to the venue to receive the vitamins free of cost.
Other Bridge of Hope centers had similar distribution programs that took place in their own localities. Vitamin deficiency is a major problem among poor women in rural Asia, and Bridge of Hope and Believers Church is helping combat the problem.
The communities who received free vitamins were thankful for the protection against disease.
