Believers Church Bilaspur Diocese organised a Community Development Program on 12th January 2013. Community members in Chhattisgarh received free goats and this distribution was part of Bilaspur Diocese’s poverty alleviation project.
Mr. Bhardwaj (MLA ) was the program’s chief guest. He appreciated Believers Church for practically following the teaching of Jesus by choosing to love and care for the poor and abandoned families of society.
The MLA distributed the goats to local families, who were very happy to receive them.
“I was longing to have a pair of goats,” said a farmer named Santosh, “but my income was very less so I stopped thinking to buy it.” He and his wife work other people’s land to provide for their seven-member family. “I thank God who knows my desire and provides accordingly,” he said. “Now I will develop my income to have a good life.”
Endrajeet, a 30-year-old daily wage worker, had a hard time stretching his small income to support his wife and two children. “I am thankful to Believers Church who have helped me with a pair of goats,” he said. “Through this I may increase my income and help my children for their study. Truly I thank all who made my dream come true.”
Believers Church provides income-generating gifts to thousands each year.
