On 8th March 2011, members of Believers Church Jasidih Diocese visited a leper colony and provided a meal to the leprosy-affected people there. They also conducted a blindness control program and distributed vitamin A tablets and Albendazole to the children in this colony.
Some of the lepers shared about the problems they face because they do not receive assistance from other organizations. They were thankful to Believers Church and requested the church’s continued help.
In addition to visiting the leprosy colony, the Believers Church team also went to the Government Middle Schools in Jasidih and Deoghar and distributed vitamin A and Albendazole tablets to the schoolchildren. One thousand children benefited through this distribution. These children, like many in South Asia, now have an extra dose of protection against disease and blindness through the care and concern of Believers Church.
The highlights of these programs were published in the local newspaper.
