Free BioSand Water Filters Given Away in Kolkata

Believers Church Kolkata Diocese launched a new community development initiative in October 2009 – the BioSand Water Filter project. BioSand Water Filters are all-natural, effective tools for producing clean drinking water in areas with access to only unsafe water sources.

For launch, the diocese manufactured 75 BioSand Filters. On 18th November 2009, 20 of these filters were freely distributed to the needy in the city of Kolkata. Vara, Diocesan leader of the BioSand water filter project, instructed the recipients about the advantages of the water filters.

Pure drinking water significantly improves the health of a community. Believers Church has distributed thousands of BioSand water filters free of cost in locations across South Asia.
