Flood Affected Families in Sri Lanka Receive Timely Help and Relief

On 18 August 2018, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Colombo held a relief supply distribution where essential items were distributed to eight flood affected families.

Three days of relentless rains, started from 15th August, resulted in flooding in the area and houses of these families were swamped by flooded waters. During the hour of crisis, the church came to their rescue. Besides evacuating the affected families to safety, after they returned back to their homes, the church helped them again with essential items to help them get back on their feet.

Each family received a relief kit consisting of 10 essential items such as 10 kg rice, 1 kg each of flour, sugar, dal, soya meat, and 400 gm milk powder packet, 100 gm salt, 100 gm chilli powder, 400 gm noodles packet and biscuit packets.

All the families were extremely glad for the timely assistance provided by the diocese in their time of need.
