Believers Church Imphal Diocese distributed gifts to the poor on 31st January 2014. Mr. Ngamthang Haokip (Irrigation and Flood Control Minister) was the chief guest, along with Rev. S. Prim Vaiphei (President of All Manipur Christian Organisation). The event was covered by The Sangai Express.
Bishop P.S. Thomas spoke to the crowd about Believers Church’s commitment to help the poor, regardless of their background or religion. Five hundred blankets were then distributed to community members. Additionally, local Bridge of Hope children received spectacles and medicines according to their need. Recipients were very grateful.
“I am happy that I will be able to face the cold and chilly winter with this blanket,” said Ayengbi, age 56.
Tomba, a daily wage earner, said, “I am not in a position to buy myself a blanket, but today I received this gift from Believers Church. Joy flooded my heart.”
This community represents thousands where Believers Church works to alleviate poverty.
