First General Convention of Diocese of Amritsar Held

The first general convention of Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Amritsar was held from 11 to 12 November 2018.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan Metropolitan. He inaugurated the convention with prayer and the lighting of the lamp. John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa, Martin Mor Aprem Episcopa and Mr. Sunil Dutty (MLA) also were present on the occasion.

Clergy and all parish members of the church in Punjab, about 4000 people in total, attended this gathering.

The members of the church felt so blessed and privileged to hear directly from the Metropolitan of the church. Rajesh Bhatti, one of the attendees, said, “I want to thank God from the bottom of my heart for giving me this opportunity to see and hear from His servant Honorable Metropolitan. It is my second time to see Metropolitan in person. I was so thrilled to hear God’s message from the Bible through him. I admire his dedication towards God’s work.”

Pinki Devi said, “I am extremely happy and thankful to God for this wonderful opportunity to see our Honorable Metropolitan in person for the first time. I had a wonderful time as I could hear the message from the Bible shared by Metropolitan and others. I am personally blessed so much through this convention.”
