On 28th April 2016, Believers Church Diocese of Lucknow swiftly reached out to the victims of a tragic fire accident in a village in Uttar Pradesh with relief aid.
The accident occurred on April 25, when a heavy storm rattled the nearby electric transmission tower and power lines, causing sparks and then a fire, which quickly spread to all the houses in the vicinity. The flames destroyed 22 houses in all, claiming the lives of their livestock and damaging all their household goods. Thankfully, no lives were lost. All the inhabitants had escaped with just the clothes on their backs.
On hearing of the tragedy, the Diocese of Lucknow swung into action to extend help to them. In addition to comforting them, each family was given a relief packet containing rice, dal, oil and clothes. All of the survivors thanked the Church for helping them in their hour of need.
