In an earnest effort to shield the vulnerable from the biting cold this winter, the Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Kathmandu, Nepal, organized a blanket distribution program on January 2nd, 2024, dedicated to supporting 40 families reliant on daily wages.
These families, encompassing individuals identified as destitute and struggling wage-earners, were bestowed with high-quality fiber blankets. For these households, who navigate their existence based on daily earnings, the frigid nights pose a formidable challenge due to the lack of proper warm clothing.
With an empathetic approach towards their plight, the Diocese of Kathmandu, Nepal, extended its care and love to these underprivileged families.
The recipients were visibly moved and expressed profound gratitude upon receiving the blankets from the church. Pabitra Gurung, a single woman among the beneficiaries, shared her heartfelt thanks, acknowledging her inability to afford such quality blankets with her earnings. She expressed, “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing love and kindness to me, a single woman.”
Another beneficiary, Bhim Kumal, expressed his appreciation for the church and its leaders, stating, “To sustain my family, I engage in a small business of selling hens from village to village. The support provided by the Church, considering my business and financial circumstances, with this good quality fiber blanket, is deeply appreciated. I am truly thankful to you all.”
