On 14th July 2015, Believers Church Diocese of Niranam distributed food kits to families who were affected in the high tides.
The families live in the coastal area of Alappuzha. There was recent tidal wave attack, in which many of them have lost their houses and earnings. They are now shifted to relief camps. Though they are safe now, they are in need of food supplies. The church realized their need and decided to provide them with it.
The staff of DORA Microfinance organized this program. They distributed food kits, each containing 10 kg rice, 1 liter coconut oil, 1kg sugar, 100 gm tea powder, 250 gm chilli powder and 500 gm green gram to 150 families.
The recipients were all happy and thankful for the help they have received in their time of difficulty.
This is just an example of how Believers Church is making sure of reaching to the victims of natural calamities with immediate relief through its Humanitarian Assistance project.
