St. Thomas, also called “Doubting Thomas,” despite his initial unbelief in the Resurrection, came to confess Jesus Christ as “Lord and God.” According to tradition, he preached the Gospel to the Parthians and South Indians and even today, the Syrian Christians in Kerala identify themselves as “St. Thomas Christians” in memory of this great Apostle.
From the 1st to the 15th of August, this is the time for the faithful to prepare themselves for their death because the death of the Mother of God is a desirable and exemplary death for all.
