Believers Church Lucknow Diocese organized a medical camp and vitamin distribution event in a local village in June 2009. The inhabitants of this village live beneath the poverty line. Many of them have poor eyesight because they cannot afford nutritious food.
Pastor Hooblal, after seeing the condition of the people, organized a medical camp in the village. He invited a doctor to speak about the importance of cleanliness and of caring for one’s body.
The doctor also explained the need for vitamin A and where it comes from to the crowd. Accordingly, the local Bridge of Hope center helped make vitamin A and deworming tablets available for the villagers.
More than 50 people benefited from the vitamin distribution. At first, people were skeptical about the effect of the vitamins. However, after one month, a number of people were surprised to notice improvement in their eyesight.
Five people in the village previously had difficulty seeing clearly. But, after taking the vitamins, their eyesight improved.
Many people in South Asia suffer because they lack simple nutrition and vitamins. Believers Church distributes thousands of vitamins each year to those who desperately need them.
