Local community members attended medical camps at Manipur Bridge of Hope centers during the last week of July and the first week of August 2008.
Dr. Lambawi Kom and Dr. Lamneikim accepted Bridge of Hope’s invitation to participate in the camp. Their dedicated, willing service was a great help.
Children and parents received free medical checkups. Most of the children suffered from viral fever, diarrhea, cough or other minor ailments. The doctors gave them medicine after a thorough examination.
The most serious health problems detected were two cases of tuberculosis in children. The doctors prescribed medicine and instructed the families on how to avoid spreading the disease to others.
At another Bridge of Hope center two students had been bedridden for two or three days with viral fever. Their parents were poor and could not afford to treat them. The medical camp occurred at the perfect time for these kids.
Through the doctors’ examination, instruction and prescription, they recovered quickly. The parents were very thankful.
Believers Church throughout South Asia offers free medical camps to undeveloped communities free of cost.
