A parish in Believers Eastern Church Dioceses of Lucknow today distributed dry rations to families that were on the brink of starvation.
As the Covid-19 pandemic reaches deeper into rural India, the poorest of the poor are not just battling Covid-19 but poverty and hunger too. Most people in the remote villages are daily wage laborers who have lost their means of livelihood due to the lockdown and many are struggling to feed their families.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday extended the COVID-19-induced curfew imposed in the state. The curfew is extended till 31 May to stem the further growth of the Coronavirus infection in the state.
Along with free dry rations and essential vegetables, masks also were distributed to people.
