A BioSand water filter distribution program was held on the 19th of July by Believers Church Uttarakhand.
The village where the distribution was held was populated by Nepali people. Most of them were laborers and their living conditions were poor. They drank impure water, causing them to suffer from stomach and throat aches.
A Believers Church worker in the area saw the need for clean drinking water and arranged to have free BioSand water filters distributed. Rev. Fr. Abhishek and Believers Church office staff went to distribute 37 water filters free of cost. Mrs. Rita Thapa (village pradhan) and Mrs. Manta Gorung (Congress Youth and Women’s Development Leader) were the special guests of the program.
Mrs. Mamta Gorung was very happy that the church was thinking about these poor people. Rev. Fr. Abhishek shared the importance of the water filters and Kuldeep (BioSand department) demonstrated the technique.
The people were amazed to see the dirty water turn into clean water. At first they thought it was magic. But later Kuldeep made them understand how the BioSand water filters work and are useful for health.
Sita said, “I did not know that I was drinking impure water. The filter is really good for health. I am really thankful that the church is providing it without any cost. God bless Believers Church.”
Believers Church has distributed thousands of BioSand water filters throughout South Asia. The filters contribute to the health of entire communities and improve the lifestyle of the poor and suffering.
