Globally, an estimated 38 million people are living with HIV. As education and awareness are the only means to remove fear and stigma around the disease, Believers Eastern Church Dioceses held awareness programs and rallies on World AIDS Day and created awareness in their communities about the disease and its prevention.
Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Ranchi, under the initiative of the Diocesan Women’s Fellowship team, took out a rally to mark the day. They walked down the streets with placards and banners in their hand and also distributed pamphlets among people to educate them about the preventive steps that should be taken to avoid being affected by AIDS.
Parishes in Diocese of Lucknow organized awareness programs to throw light upon the issue and help people understand about the importance of ending the stigma, and show support for people living with HIV/AIDS.
