The Diocese of Udaipur observed International Widows Day in different locations between 23rd June and 26th June 2014. More than 60 widows received gifts like rice, atta, toothbrushes and tea powder.
In one of the programs, Mr. Waluram Katra (sarpanch) was the chief guest of the program. He spoke about the issues faced by a widow in the society.
Rev. Fr. Ruplal said, “40 million widows live in India and life for these women is hard. Not only have they lost their husband, but society turns their backs on them.” Also he talked about the emotional and financial problems that a widow has to face.
Believers Church brought hope to thousands of widows on this International Widows Day through its 33 dioceses.
