The economic fallout from COVID-19 has left thousands of poor households without enough food to feed their families. Responding to this crisis, Believers Eastern Church, India is reaching out to the poor and needy with food and essential items.
On 30th May 2021, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Tinsukia distributed dry ration kits to over 30 needy families in three remote villages of Tinsukia District.
A majority of the residents of these villages work in tea gardens. But due to lockdown, they have been out of work and going through tough times.
Diocese of Tinsukia took initiative to reach out to the most affected families with dry ration kits. Each dry ration kit per family contains rice, dal, cooking oil, salt, sugar, onion and potatoes.
Ramesh Nag, one of the recipients, said, “My family was in dire need of rations. Since the last two days we have not even had proper food. Thank you for this great help.”
