With the aim of safeguarding poor families from mosquito-borne diseases during the monsoon season, a Women’s Fellowship team in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Ranchi held a mosquito net distribution program on the occasion of World Mosquito Day, on 20 August 2021.
World Mosquito Day highlights the importance to create awareness about mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya. The theme of World Mosquito Day 2021 is “Reaching the zero malaria target”.
In observance of this day, the Women’s Fellowship team from the diocese visited a nearby village where they distributed mosquito nets to poor families that cannot afford to buy them.
This year, Believers Eastern Church Dioceses in India and Nepal carried out mosquito net distributions and awareness events at various places to help prevent the spread of and promote better understanding of mosquito-borne diseases.
