Diocese of Purulia Provides School Supplies to Around 140 Needy Children

Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Purulia organized school supply distributions at two places through Hope for Children on 3 November 2021.

Mr. Anup Kumar Din, former joint director of women & children welfare department, government of West Bengal, Mr. Sailen Kumar Punuria, provincial vicar of purulia diocese and Hope for Children staff were present at the distribution program held in one of the places.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anup kumar Din said, “I appreciate Hope for Children for its great work and service to society. I am also very much happy to be part of this program today. I encourage all the parents here to take care of their children well. The parents should stand against all the social evils like child marriage, illiteracy, and strive to provide a good education to their children. I once again appreciate Hope for Children for working towards the welfare of children in need”.

Altogether, 137 children were provided with school supplies. Each child received a kit consisting of water bottle, tiffin box, geometry box, color pencils, pencils, pens, eraser, sharpener, ruler, pencil box, soaps, tooth paste, and face mask.

Ajit Mahasto, a father of one of the children said, “I am deeply grateful to you for your love and care for poor people like us. Because of Hope for Children, our children are receiving good education, food and needed school supplies which we the parents are not able to provide to our children. Hope for Children is doing a great service to our society. We want you to help many more children to complete their education, so that they would become good and responsible citizens of our nation.”
