On 27 June 2021, a local parish in Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Pokhara took initiative to reach out to needy families in the community with dry rations.
These families have been adversely affected by the second wave of coronavirus. Due to Covid-19 containment measures, they are now jobless and especially the daily wage earners have not been able to go for work for more than two months.
Realizing their struggle for basic sustenance, the parish provided them with relief items consisting of a sack of rice, a packet each of salt, oil, dal, and soybean.
Madan who fractured his leg in an accident and has been jobless, said, “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the church for providing us relief materials during this very difficult time.”
“Even during the first wave of Covid-19 when I had no job, the church had provided me with relief items. And now once again the church has come to our aid. I am very grateful to the church priest and parish members for understanding my difficult situation and helping me with essential items. I truly thank you for your concern towards me”, said Bipana.
