Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Vizag reached out to 70 poverty-stricken families in a remote hilly village with dry ration items on 22 May 2021.
This tiny village consists of 135 households, of which more than 50% of the families are affected with Covid-19 due to community spread in rural villages.
The second wave of Covid-19 has pushed the villagers further into poverty and many have been struggling to make their ends meet. But with the help of the local parish priest, the Vizag Diocesan team could distribute dry ration kits to 70 households in this rural village. Each family received a kit consisting of rice, eggs, dal, cooking oil, onion and four other essential vegetables.
The village headman and all the beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Believers Eastern Church for helping them with essential supplies in these difficult times.
