Diocese of Udaipur Ordains 59 New Deacons

On August 4, 2023, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Udaipur held a significant event: the ordination of deacons to the sacred order of diaconate.

Leading the ceremony was His Grace John John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa, the Archbishop of the Delhi Archdiocese, serving as the celebrant. Assisting in the proceedings was His Grace Thomas Mor Kurilos Episcopa, the Diocesan Bishop of Uttar Pradesh, acting as the co-celebrant during this sacred ceremony.

The chosen ordinands were from various regions, including the mission provinces of Banswara, Rathlam, and Jhadol, under the umbrella of the Udaipur Diocese.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn procession, followed by the celebration of Divine Liturgy. During the ordination, His Grace John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa imparted insightful guidance to the candidates, shedding light on the life of a deacon and the responsibilities it entails. The candidates were also bestowed with the blessings of the Divine Word from His Grace Thomas Mor Kurilos Episcopa. The service culminated in the celebration of Holy Communion.

A total of 59 candidates were officially ordained as deacons, with their families present to witness and share in this momentous occasion. One of the newly ordained deacons, Luxman Lal Meena, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am deeply thankful to the Church for choosing me for ordination. It is a tremendous opportunity to serve the Lord within the Church.”
