In the month of June, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Rwanda extended its benevolent support to needy communities by sponsoring Mutuelle De Sante (health insurance) to about 9800 individuals, thus ensuring they have access to quality healthcare.
The beneficiaries are from the Northern, Eastern and Western Provinces of the country. The events were held in the respective villages of the beneficiaries, bringing the initiative closer to their communities.
In the District of Kicukiro, 894 people received health coverage.
In Musanze District, 1,839 people were supported.
In the District of Rutsiro, 4,361 individuals benefited.
And in Bugesera District, 1,512 people were granted health insurance.
The programs were blessed by the presence of various leaders of the country such as the Vice Mayor, health representatives, district heads and community leaders. The Vice-Mayor of Musanze expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating, “We are extremely thankful to the Church, who saw the need in the community and eagerly took the step to ensure the good health of the people. We will continue to work with the Church on all their future endeavors for the people of Rwanda.”
H. G. Geevarghese Mor Makarios Episcopa presented the vision of the Church to initiate various projects aimed at helping thousands of children and families in the coming days, breaking the cycle of poverty. He further added that Believers Eastern Church is focused on the holistic development of the community, with primary emphasis on the psycho-social well-being of individuals.
In all the communities where the programme was held, people danced out of joy. They do so on occasions of happiness and to welcome new guests into their community.

Brenadette Nzamukosha said, “I am extremely happy for receiving the insurance; now I feel like a huge burden is taken away from me as I don’t have to worry about the finances when my children fall sick.”
Theogene Nishiyimana, who has been struggling with the low income he makes from his agriculture, said, “Receiving the Mutuelle is a great privilege for me. Now, me and my family can avail of the various health benefits that we were not able to afford before.”
