Diocese of Lucknow Distributes Blankets to 60 People Affected by Leprosy

Under the able guidance of H.G Thomas Mor Kurilos Episcopa, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Lucknow organized a blanket distribution program in a leprosy colony on 13 January 2023.

Altogether 19 families who have come from different states such as Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand, are residing in this colony. They are mainly dependent on begging for their survival. During this winter season, they have been suffering from a lack of proper heating and good quality blankets to protect themselves from the harsh winter cold. Seeing their desperate need for warm clothes, the diocese undertook the initiative to help them with warm blankets.

H.G. Thomas Mor Kurilos Episcopa handed out the blankets to 60 leprosy-affected people who received the gift with a grateful heart.

Several parts of North India are in the grip of a bone-chilling cold wave. In some places, the absence of adequate warm clothing has forced the poor and the destitute to burn dry leaves and waste to keep themselves warm this winter.
