This month, a diaconate ordination service was conducted in Nepal’s Bhaktapur district. In all, 15 ordinands from the Kathmandu, Pokhara , and Kohalpur Dioceses in Nepal were ordained into the sacred order of diaconate. His Grace Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa presided at the ordination.
The ceremony, resonating with solemnity and spiritual fervor, commenced with a reverent procession of the candidates, accompanied by resonating hymns rendered by the choir team. The candidates, representing the three Dioceses, were then presented before His Grace Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa for the ordination rites. One of them read the pledge on behalf of the ordinands, pledging to obey the faith, and uphold the constitutions, faith, and traditions of the Holy Church, as well as to serve the Lord faithfully.
The Episcopa, embodying the sacred responsibility vested in him, consecrated the candidates to the divine ministry through liturgical prayers. Each ordinand was bestowed with a New Testament Bible, symbolizing their charge to serve and nurture the faithful with God’s Word. The sacred service culminated in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, newly-ordained deacon Binay Pariyar expressed profound gratitude, stating, “God’s grace and boundless love have rendered me worthy of this ordination. I extend heartfelt thanks to our gracious God and the Church leaders for bestowing upon me this sacred privilege.”
