Diocese of Dhemaji Ordains 98 New Deacons

One step closer to the priesthood, 98 men from Believers Eastern Church dioceses and mission provinces of Dhemaji, Itanagar, Jonai, Lakhimpur, and Majuli were ordained into the sacred order of the diaconate recently. The ordination service took place in two separate ceremonies at St. James Believers Eastern Church, Dhemaji. On July 21, 52 candidates received their ordination, followed by the second group of 46 ordinands on the subsequent day.

His Grace Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa officiated the ordination ceremony. Amidst heartfelt prayers and sacred chants, the episcopa placed his hands upon each candidate, invoking divine blessings and grace upon them. The ordinands embraced their calling with humility and determination, promising to carry out their duties with unwavering devotion.

Reflecting on this significant event, a newly-ordained deacon, Dn. Fr. Daniel Doley expressed his happiness, feeling honoured that God has chosen him to serve as a deacon of the church. He pledged to do his best to be worthy of God’s calling and thanked both God and the Church for granting him this privilege.
