Diocese of Dhaka Ordains 27 New Deacons

In a sacred ceremony, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Dhaka ordained 27 men to the sacred order of the diaconate on 3 June 2023.

H.G. Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa, the Archbishop of Kolkata Archdiocese, presided over the ordination service, while H.G. Anil Mor Philemon Episcopa, the Bishop of Agartala Diocese, actively participated as a concelebrant. The momentous occasion was attended by the parishioners, families, friends, of the newly ordained deacons.

In his sermon, Archbishop Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa emphasized the significance of the diaconate and the essential role of deacons within the church community. He exhorted the newly ordained deacons to be compassionate, humble servants, following the example set by Jesus Christ, who Himself came not to be served but to serve.

During the sacred Rite of Ordination, Archbishop Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa, laid his hands upon each candidate, invoking the Holy Spirit’s blessings upon them. The moment was profoundly symbolic, as it marked their official entry into the clergy, carrying the sacred duty of ministering to the faithful and spreading the word of God.

Following the ordination, the newly ordained deacons humbly expressed their gratitude for the trust bestowed upon them and their unwavering commitment to serving the church and its community.
