Diocese of Colombo Inaugurates New Hope for Children Center

In a significant step towards providing quality education to underprivileged children, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Colombo inaugurated yet another Hope for Children center on 12 September 2023 in Kandy District, Sri Lanka.

The inaugural ceremony, attended by esteemed guests and community members, including the Vicar General of the diocese, the Hope for Children National Coordinator, the Hope For Children Program Coordinator, and the local parish priest, was a momentous occasion that underscored the commitment of the church to the welfare of children.

Miss Ruvanthika Hen Nayaka, Divisional Secretary of Delthota, who was present at the inauguration program, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the church’s and Hope for Children’s unwavering dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of children in the region.

The event also saw the participation of key community figures, including Upal Priyanth, Administrator of Grama Nilathari, Delthota AG Division, Usha Ranjeni, Grama Nilathari & Child Development Officers, and Mr. Sathananthan, a school principal, all of whom eagerly supported this noble initiative.

One local resident, Nallaiya, conveyed the sentiments of the Delthota community, saying, “This is a great opportunity for the Delthota children. This will change a lot of children’s lives.”

This center will surely play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Kandy District’s children, providing them with education, essential resources and support they need to thrive.
