Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Birtamod held a blood donation camp in Jhapa District, Nepal on 8 September 2021.
Altogether, 21 Believers Eastern Church members and priests donated blood at the camp. They participated with great enthusiasm in donating blood for a noble cause. A team from Nepal Red Cross Society was invited to carry out the clinical activities for the camp. They thanked the church for the great initiative and appreciated the donors for their contribution to society.
“I am happy that for the first time I could be part of a blood donation camp and donate my blood, which can save the life of someone in need”, said one of the participants by name Urmila.
On the same day, a women’s fellowship team organized a literacy awareness program for women, in celebration of International Literacy Day. They also opened a new adult literacy center in Sankhuwasabha District, on the occasion. The program was conducted under the leadership of the district women’s fellowship leader.
Mrs. Bal Kumari Rai said, “I can hardly write my name. I have always wanted to learn how to read and write. I am very much thankful to the church for opening this literacy class.”
