In the month of December 2021, the vicar general of Birtamod Diocese had visited a remote village to distribute blankets to the villagers. During his visit, he learned about the pathetic condition of the local children who had little to no access to warm clothing to sustain themselves in the harsh weather.
In order to help these poor children, on 10 February 2022, Diocese of Birtamod held a winter aid distribution in the village. The church provided winter caps, sweaters and stationery items to 20 most needy children of this village. The parents of these children are poor farmers and daily laborers. They were very much grateful to the church for providing much-needed winter essentials to their children.
The fund for the distribution was provided by the one of the children from the diocese, on the occasion of her birthday.
Mr. Dhan Prasad Rai, the local school principal, said, “I am extremely thankful to the donor for the love and care towards our students. The items are helpful to them during this cold winter.”
