Believers Church Diocese of Odisha dedicated 12 new houses for Cyclone Phailin-affected families on 29th August 2014.
These families lost their homes and their belongings when the cyclone hit their village on October 2013. They needed shelter but building their own house was impossible for them as they had lost everything. Seeing their need, the church decided to rebuild new houses for them.
Smt. Basanti Mallick (MLA) was the chief guest and she gifted the keys to the beneficiaries. In her speech, she appreciated Believers church for showing concern for these people.
All the families thanked the church for seeing their need and showing compassion towards them. “We lost everything when Phailin hit our village, and we became hopeless because no one was there to help us,” said Prakash Nayak, a beneficiary. “Thank you so much for providing us such a beautiful house.”
Believers Church plans to build 300 brick homes for cyclone victims through it’s Cyclone Phailin Rehabilitation Project.
