Believers Church Diocese of Niranam organized an Onam kit distribution and an anti-alcohol awareness program on 6th September 2014. Fifty families received Onam kits containing 10kg rice, 1kg sugar, salt, vegetable oil, pappad, banana chips and payasam kit that day.
These families are extremely poor and their meager income makes it difficult to meet their daily needs. So, the church decided to provide Onam kits to these families so that they can also enjoy the festival of harvest – Onam without much struggles. Mr. T.V Divakaran (Excise Inspector) inaugurated the program and distributed the kits to these people. In his speech, he appreciated the initiatives taken by church to provide hope and happiness in the lives of the poor.
Later, they held an awareness rally about the negative impacts of alcohol consumption and 450 people took part in it.
The program was a great success and all the beneficiaries thanked church for gifting them an Onam kit.
Believers Church through awareness programs, medical camps and food kit distribution programs spreads awareness, ensures better health and brings hope and happiness in the lives of poor and needy people in the society.
