Many villages in the state of Maharashtra are still facing severe drought and famine due to the less rainfall received over the past few years. People are struggling without sufficient water for even their basic needs.
So, on World Water Day, 22nd March 2016, Believers Church Diocese of Mumbai inaugurated new bore wells to solve the water crisis in five such villages.
“We always had to walk long distances and wait in longer queues for hours to fetch little water for our needs. Sometimes, this waiting will end up in quarrels,” said one woman. “Today, our problem is solved. We no longer have to spend most of our time in walking or standing in queues. Thank you so much for installing this well for us.”
Believers Church solved the water crisis in many villages by providing bore wells, wells and BioSand Water Filters on World Water Day.
